激高し自棄になっていく人間
歌詞は、愛する女を失った男の怒りや自暴自棄になっていく姿を表現しているようにみえる。その女は、強欲さから男の下を離れ、女を失った男は苦しみ、激高する。そして、もう失うものはなにもないと言わんばかりに、何かを為そうと男は動き出す。
独創的なドラムパフォーマンス
スローなテンポのまばらなドラムと、ベース音と、エフェクティブに挿入されるサンプル音。トレント・レズナーのうんざりするような呟き声がそれに重なる。
そのサウンドは、圧迫感を伴いつつ徐々に高まっていく。
そして後半、抑えていた感情が溢れ出すように、乱雑で手に負えない感情を表現するように、密度の濃いドラムパフォーマンスが開始される。
トレント・レズナーによるドラムサウンド
